My colour is amazing! So what’s next?

You find yourself as a bold redhead or perhaps a luscious purple to complete the colour of the year look. What’s next? Your stylist would’ve told you this – do not wash your hair for at least 48 hours. This will allow the dye to set into your hair and potentially prolong its lifespan.
Colour safe shampoo & conditioner
When it is finally time to wash your hair, make sure to use a colour safe shampoo & conditioner. These shampoos are specially formulated to protect the dye while cleansing & adding shine to your hair.
And remember when it comes to hair, cold is the way to go.
Bonus tip: There are colour-depositing shampoos out there formulated specifically for your hair colour (eg. blondes, redheads) but they may not be readily available. One trick you can try is to get a semi- permanent vegan hair dye (colour of your choice) and mix it with the colour safe shampoo to create your own colour depositing shampoo. You’ll get your hair clean while depositing colour back to your hair!
Dry shampoo is a lifesaver for everyone, especially so for coloured hair! This comes in handy for in-between days when you do not wash your hair (avoid frequent hair wash, 3 times a week is a good gauge). Hair produces natural oils that help protect the scalp and your hair follicles, which is key to healthy hair. The dry shampoo will help absorb excess oils in the meantime.
